College Live – Don’t Run on Empty While Seeking Perfection

Being away at college can create anxiety, make you feel lonely sometimes, worried about doing the work, perhaps indecisive when choosing a major. It can do all those things – if you let it.

But, just like a athlete prepares for their sport, you have to take care of your body and your health – both physically and mentally. You need to get a good amount night of sleep every night, eat well, exercise regularly, and keep your mind and both in top shape. Once that is happening, you can learn to prioritize, focus on what is most important – and not fret the small stuff. You don’t need to be perfect – that is not an achievable goal in such an imperfect world.

Just be you!

This is the 5th in my series of inter-generational advice that I gave to my own Granddaughter when she recently went away to college. I was encouraged to share things I said, so that others can perhaps benefit from my own experiences.
