Curriculum / Course Desription
This is a 2-day course with a corner-by-corner look at the 16-turn 2.38 mile Barber Motorsports Park detailing cornering lines and shift points on every section of racetrack. They take an in-depth look at body positioning, effective braking and building confidence at increased lean angles. In addition to on-bike video instruction and classroom review to enhance the student’s learning experience, Kevin takes students on a track walk to show reference points close-up.
Class size is no more than 40 students. Classes are split into two groups. Students learn at a pace that matches their ability and comfort levels, both in the classroom and on the course. Seven on-track instructors (famous riders like Tray Batey, Lee Acree, Michael Martin and Opie Caylor) provide a three-to-one student-to-instructor ratio. Key points covered include:
• Visual awareness and concentration
• Body position and steering technique
• Cornering lines and reference points
• Gear selection and shifting technique
• Braking technique
• Staying smooth and controlling panic
